Raja will work to protect natural resources and promote conservation by participating in local clean-up efforts, supporting environmental organizations, and educating others about the importance of environmental stewardship.
Raja is committed to protecting the right to vote for all Americans and will stand against any form of voter suppression or intimidation. He believes that every American should have the right to make their voice heard at the ballot box without interference. Raja will fight for laws that protect our voting rights and ensure that every American has an equal opportunity to cast their ballot. He will also work to ensure that there are adequate resources in place for communities to access polling places, such as early voting locations and translation services.
Raja has been on a mission to amplify the voice of Texans in our democracy – a goal that has only become more urgent in recent years. He has worked tirelessly to bolster voter turnout in his district, pushing for more voting locations in underrepresented communities and leading successful efforts to alter the law to increase voter participation in local elections, like the mayoral race. Raja has also championed for independent redistricting commissions to keep politicians from gerrymandering their own districts.
In Congress, Raja will never waiver in his commitment to safeguarding our democracy. He is an ardent advocate of federal legislation like the For the People Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Act, along with automatic voter registration. He steadfastly refuses to accept any donations from corporate PACs and vows to do everything in his power to reverse Citizens United.

Raja is dedicated to increasing access to reproductive health care, repealing the Hyde Amendment, and codifying Roe v. Wade through the Women’s Health Act. We are fighting for access to abortion care, contraceptive services, and comprehensive sex education in Texas.
We have fought against some of the most extreme anti-abortion laws in the country, including bans on insurance coverage for abortion, restrictions on medication abortion, forced ultrasounds, and unnecessary regulations that target clinics providing abortion care. Raja is also involved in advocating for legislative change to ensure access to reproductive health care and supporting organizations that provide direct services.
Our goal is to protect and expand access to abortion, contraception, and preventive health care so Texans can make their own decisions about their bodies and futures with dignity and respect.
Raja would fight to pass the MORE Act that will legalize marijuana, expunge past records, and ensure that new funds go to mental health and substance use services. He will also work to end cash bail and expand programs that provide alternatives to incarceration. He will strive to reduce racial disparities in the criminal justice system, invest in mental health services for those in the system, and create a pathway for individuals to re-enter society with greater success. Raja will also push for increased training for law enforcement on implicit bias, de-escalation tactics, and cultural competency. Finally, he will work to ensure that victims of crime have access to the resources they need to heal and rebuild their lives.
Raja comes from an immigrant family and can relate the struggle and hardship the immigrants face in day to day life.
We must reverse all of Trump’s anti-immigrant policies and create a path to citizenship for immigrant families. Raja will fight to pass bills like the American Dream and Promise Act, the American Families United Act, and the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act. All working people deserve to live dignified lives free from fear of being separated from their families. Thousands of families in Texas’s 32nd district, and millions of people in Texas, would benefit from having their rights fully recognized and protected by the federal government.
Raja is committed to ending the epidemic of gun violence in our country. Raja is committed to helping the American people create a future of safety and peace through responsible gun ownership and rigorous enforcement of existing laws, enhanced mental health services, and investment in communities impacted by gun violence. He will work with Congress to expand background checks, prohibit the sale of assault weapons, and pass legislation that closes loopholes that allow prohibited individuals to purchase guns. Raja also supports the development of smart gun technology and the repeal of Stand Your Ground laws. Finally, he believes we need to invest in community-based programs that reduce violence and its impacts on our families and neighborhoods.
